“To take a big step, one need a small step in the beginning.”
I had to travel from Varanasi to my home by train. Train was late, So I decided to walk along the platform.
I was surprised to see that there was very very less amount of dirt and debris on its floor in comparison to 5-6 months back. There was regular cleaning done on the platforms. People were throwing the waste at suitable places but not here and there.
You will say what is surprising about this? Could cleaning be a surprise? Yes I know, It’s just a regular practice and the behavior of a common people.
But, It was not practiced outside our houses. People try to keep clean their own houses but not of others. Now, People are joining and co-ordinating their hands and making the impact.
It is surprising because 5 or 6 months before, the scene was totally different. Platforms were just like a house of dirt and debris.
Whether It’s used plastic bottles or wastewater or wasted papers, all was there to malign the beauty of the platform, the junction as well as the city.
Criticism is done at large scale against the Clean India Campaign. People ask about its impact.
I would say that Clean India Campaign has been changing the traditional mindset of people.
What changes I have seen after the launch of Clean India campaign by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 02nd of October, 2014, I have witnessed some smaller but very necessary changes in people’s mind as well as at the ground level.
IMPACTS OF CLEAN INDIA CAMPAIGN:-
1. People search for dustbin to throw waste
In earlier time, It was common that people were used to dump waste outside the dustbin. It was familiar to witness the littering anywhere on the road in a large amount.
But now, People dump waste at right place and if they do not find the dustbin, they ask from the people for that.
2. Young minds and hands are changing the scenario
Varanasi or Banaras or Kashi is the spiritual capital of India. Banaras is well-known as the city of streets, Ghats and temples.
Politically, Varanasi is also the parliamentary seat of PM Narendra Modi.
Two young ladies, Temsutula Imsong and Darshika Shah with their team started a initiative “Mission Prabhughat” to clean Ghats of the Banaras. At first, People tried to ignore as well as criticize for their work.
But, when there efforts began to change the scene, people began to join their hands to make the building.
PM himself praised their effort on his twitter account.
3. India can really change
‘INDIA CAN CHANGE’, It was just a slogan. But efforts and changes in Clean India campaign has shown as well as regularly changing people’s traditional mindset.
It is just an example of change what I have been witnessing. There are a lot to come, join and make a clean country.
A gold morning is the combination of unpredictable happiness and refreshing energy. If your morning is good, your day will certainly turn out better. And, a better day makes your life beautiful and happier than before.
To start a day and the busy professional routine, we require a energy backup for whole day, that backup comes from the morning, I must say.
I am an undergraduate student and the necessity of consistent energy and refreshment is well known as well as well-required to me. Continued 6 hours of classes a day can easily make a person badly tired. Besides all, I have to pay much attention on my studies too and that also requires continued energy flow and refreshment in my body. Therefore, I know how a good morning can provide me all that is the required to my body.
My mantra to turn good mornings into gold mornings are very simple and common. Anyone willing to make their morning gold and the day beautiful can easily do it.
Early to rise
To enjoy a morning, you must wake up in the morning. I try to rise in the morning by latest 5 am. At that time, Sun is about to publish its rays in the sky. The whole surroundings looks clear and give me feeling of eternal peace.
Toothbrushing is a very important task. You have to meet people, speak with them and interact with them daily. Your face and tooth tells your impression on the person in front of you.
I always use colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes for cleaning of my mouth. It keeps me refreshed for whole day and I can easily interact with any person.
Watching sunrise on Ghats
I live in the city of Banaras, the spiritual capital of India. It is the city older than history. Banaras is situated on the banks of river Ganges and Ghats on the bank of the river are famous all over the world for its historical importance and scenic beauty.
Watching the Sun rising and making a golden road on the surface of the river is just an immortal memory. I regularly go to Ghats in the morning to enjoy the scene.
It is said that you cannot even worship without food. Then, A morning without food is not possible.
Traditional breakfast of Banaras is Puri, Sabji and Jalebi. You can easily find it anywhere in the Banaras in the morning. It is just tastier than anything else. It has played an important role in turning good mornings into gold mornings.
That is how I turn my good morning into gold morning.
It’s my mantra, What’s yours?
Colgate 360 Charcoal Gold toothbrush , has been specially designed to make your mouth clean and your morning gold.
This post is a part of Colgate India’s #Colgate360GoldMornings campaign.
“A gold morning is not golden in color but turns a day into gold.”
A new day inspire us to take new resolutions and do our best to complete them. Resolutions are the reasons to go ahead in life and not be stable in the earlier state.
What decides how your day will pass today? How will you take care of your resolutions? And, What decides your rest of the day?
Guessing….. yes! You are right, It’s the sweet Morning that is the decider of your day. Your whole day depends upon your morning, To make your day beautiful, you need to make your morning beautiful.
For getting refreshed and make their morning and day super, Some love to walk in the morning, some go to gym, some love to eat their favorite breakfast, some find their happy morning in newspaper and a lot.
You cannot find the taste of gold morning if you sleep till 10’o clock in the day.
For me, There are a number of things that turn my good morning into Gold. I love these things from core of my heart and I wish it might happen till my life.
I live in the spiritual capital of India, in the city of Banaras. In the hostel of university, I usually wake up at 5’o clock in the morning. After that, The act of refreshment starts. After refreshment, my morning walk starts from my hostel. It ends up to the Ghats on the banks of river Ganges.
It’s a morning musical program that is performed daily at the famous ASSI Ghat of Banaras. Every morning starts with Ganga Arti and then musical exercise. The combination of both is really amazing and It provide viewers eternal joy.
It’s a landmark of gold morning for me.
Lovely scenary of Sunrise
While sitting on river’s bank, you can watch the red spherical Sun rising from the east. Watching sunrise is always a joyful practice, but experiencing Sunrise on river’s bank is just unforgettable.
It looks alike a road of gold has been made on the surface of the water to welcome the new morning.
Watching sunrise is beautiful experience as well as an energetic exercise too.
The rising sun also inspires me to start up our day with more power and dedication.
A good morning is quite colorless without good breakfasts.
It is said that good food is the reason of good behavior.
After returning from the bank of river Ganges to my hostel, I prefer to eat famous Banarasi breakfast of Puri, Sabji and Jalebi. A sip of sweet tea after the breakfast makes it more beautiful.
The immortal taste of the traditional breakfast make my morning more amazing and I find myself ready to start my day with new energy, frest thinking and new enthusiasm.
These are the things that make my morning golden, What are yours?

“ Varanasi is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together.” – MARK TWAIN
A city that is beyond the history, that is known as the spiritual capital of India and has every aspect of life and death, is none other than the holy city of Banaras.
There is no record of the beginning of the city. Also named as Varanasi and Kashi, Banaras is the only city in the world that is continuously habitated.
My favorite city is Banaras. It is situated in the state of Uttar pradesh.
To experience the holy air of the city, I was very interested. The interest first knocked door of my heart when I was in class 11th. I read some novels about Banaras and also searched about its specialty and I feel devoted for the beautiful city of Banaras.
The reputed Banaras hindu university was my destination to pursue undergraduate course. The preparation for the entrance examination of the university was very interesting. Banaras used to come in my day and night dreams.
It was the day of entrance when I felt the city for the first time. Whatever I had read and watched in books and TV was just in front of my eyes. I was speechless.
When I returned home, I couldn’t forget the city.
I passed the entrance and now I am studying in BHU. My dream came true. I am experiencing the city as per my wish.
(Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi)
I think this city has something unique and amazing. Banaras never disappoints anyone. It has something for everyone. Here, No one sleeps hungry.
The city is situated on the bank of the holy Ganges river. Sitting on the banks of river is a thrilling experience. You can meet with the real peace.
You can experience the reality of life in the city of Banaras. Old buildings, temples and heritage places are really amazing. You can easily find the combination of modern and ancient at every step.
(Ganga Aarti on Ghats Of Banaras)
Street foods, traditional foods, dessert dishes etc. are simply awesome and mouth-watering. Lassi and other milk products are very popular and delicious.
Taking sip of tea on riverside is just the joy of heaven on the earth. Boating in the river and watching the ancient buildings on its banks will make you dive in the history.
It’s a very famous tourist place as well. People from abroad and different parts of our country come to watch and feel spirituality. People come here to see Ghats, worship in the temples, experience the holy Ganges, taste tasty dishes, feel the spirituality and a lot of things. BHU is 100 years old university and It is also a subject of interest for the people coming to Banaras.
You can’t see the combination of life and death at any other place than Banaras.
I am loving this city very well and I can say that these are best days of my life.
The city of Banaras has been successful in saving its culture and It’s an achievement of which anyone can feel proud of.
Every Indian should come here to watch the combination of traditions, cultures, ages, life and death etc.
You will never forget its experience, I must say.
Banaras is a city made of great.

After that, put the soaked rice in the boiling milk and stir it regularly.
